60th Anniversary Celebration + Youth Ministry Kick-Off

60th Anniversary Celebration

+ Youth Kick-Off

On September 11, at 11 a.m., join us for a look back at 60 years of Atonement, lunch, crafts, games, and fellowship! Come, rain or shine! All ages welcome!

This event will be joined by Atonement’s Youth Ministry Kick-Off! More families, more games, more fun!

How can you help?

Sign up to bring a dish to pass, to help with set-up/take-down, to run games, and more! If you have yard games, such as cornhole/bags and ladder golf, we could use those too!

Please use the Sign-up Genius to commit to bringing a dish, helping out, or bringing yard games!

Youth Ministry Kick-Off

This year, we will be celebrating the beginning of fall classes for our Youth Ministry (ACTS and Cross+Training) during the 60th Anniversary Celebration. We are so excited to be eating, gaming, and having fun together. Lunch will be served around 11:30 a.m., with plenty of games to play in our yard!

At 12:30 p.m., Youth Ministry is hosting a parent’s meeting in the Sanctuary. This meeting will focus on upcoming mission trips, outings and other activities happening during the 2022-2023 school year.

More About Celebration

Special thanks to our 60th Anniversary Committee members for helping put this event together: Michelle Burdick, Pat Gallun, Sharon Holden, Mark Lemahieu, Robin Lien, Lilly Luttmann, Marty Petersen, Pam Robel, and Frank Waltz.

Letters from Charter Members

To my Atonement friends,

Congratulations on 60 wonderful years. I was blessed to be a part of it for SO years, enjoying the church services, choir, Priscilla Circle, quilting, knit wits, YAH, and enjoying many great friends. I had the pleasure of knowing the first SO years of Pastors, beginning with Pastor Hestenes. I am still in contact with two of them. All Joy! God Bless Atonement for many more years.

– A grateful past member, Marilyn Zimmermann

Hello everyone, my name is Janet Wojnowski.

In the year 1961 there was a knock at our door, it was Pastor Hestenes inviting us to come to the service of a Mission Church being established in Muskego, the service would be held in the parsonage basement, located on Durham Drive --well we went and the rest is history.

This group of strangers meeting for the first, welcomed each other with open arms.

For 60 years Atonement has always been blessed with members always reaching out helping anyway they could. The friendliest people, helping one another and reaching out to help the less fortunate are just some of the reasons we stayed members of Atonement.

When my life is over I'll still be close to Atonement, my ashes will be put with my husbands Carl in the Memory Garden.

Love and peace, Janet

Looking Back at 60 Years of Atonement

There is so much history surrounding Atonement. Each Sunday we will show a small glimpse at what that history looks like up until the Celebration. At 11 a.m. on Sunday, September 11, Frank Waltz will be kicking off the Celebration with a brief history of Atonement presentation!

Summer Clean Up: Work Day

Help clean up the Atonement grounds on Saturday June 25, from 9 - 11 a.m.

Tasks for this year's cleanup include:

- Weeding planting beds

- Trimming plants including a number of bushes

- Thinning plants

- Removing dead plants

Please bring tools that can be used for these tasks such as garden trowels/shovels, rakes, pruning shears, pruning loppers, wheel barrels and anything else that you think would be useful. Many hands make for light work, so please stop by if you can!
