Cookie Soup!

Cookies that were sold by our youth around Thanksgiving have an incorrect recipe on the bag.
We are VERY sorry for any confusion and ruined cookies this may have caused.

If you have already made your cookies and they turned out like soup, OR you have not yet made them, please pick from the following options:

1.  Request a refund
2.  Request a new dry mix bag with corrected recipe attached
3.  Request a batch of cookies (already cooked)
4. Correct Cookie Recipe-Add 1 1/4 cup of flour to the mixture and reduce the amount of butter to 1 cup.

Contact Kara Mendez at kara@atonementmuskego.org with your request.

Hey, All,

The Fort Wilderness sign up is now live and working--sign up here for Fort. Fort Wilderness is February 8-11; it’s our really great youth winter retreat that you should attend!

The sign up is in Realm, our church directory and app. We had an issue with our payment processing vendor, not Realm, which caused the signup delay. If you haven’t yet signed up for Realm, please do so--it is your one-stop-shop for all things Atonement :) You can request an account right here or get signed up with the email invite that I am sending right after this message

Also, please get February 13 on your calendar for our Fat Tuesday Pancake Dinner. Exact time coming soon; it will be a lot of fun!
Sincerely,
Kevin Kretzmann Farrar

Tell me more about Fort Wilderness!

We have been going to FW for SEVERAL years.  It is a Christian camp in Rhinelander.  The Winter Retreat offers sledding (down a HUGE hill), ice-skating, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, broom ball (think hockey with just your boots on and instead of hockey sticks they are brooms!), the chair of death (which is actually a lot of fun, they made me go in it a few years ago), AWESOME food, lots and lots of fun!!

We will do a devotion in the mornings and at night and the rest of the time campers are allowed to explore the grounds. (There’s also a coffee shop and canteen to purchase treats.) The rest of the “fun” things are included when you sign up.

You may also visit the FW website!

Students can also bring friends!

From Pastor Kevin:

What’s Going On With our Youth Leader? and Other Youth Ministry Updates

We have not had a youth leader since Troy Mendez stepped down this summer—and that has come with some benefits. In particular, it has given us a chance to try out some new things and gain some clarity for what we want moving forward. It has been helpful for me, Pastor Kevin, to be more deeply involved in our youth ministry so that I can better support whatever youth leader we have moving forward.

We will have another youth leader. As you will see in our materials for our Annual Meeting on January 14, we have budgeted for another youth leader and intend to hire one this year.

There are also drawbacks from not having a youth leader, though. Being in a period of transition doesn’t always feel good. It has also required more from some of our most active volunteers. In particular, Mike Gandrud, Carrie Storm, and Julie Kerr-Nicholson have been huge gifts to our youth. Please thank them the next time you see them.

Now that we have a Fall under our belt, complete with social activities and weekly Cross+Training, and ACTS, our youth leader search team’s work will ramp up. Look for more info on their work soon.
