Obituary

Judith M. Larsen “Judy” “Nana” (nee Bruederle) passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 4, 2024, age 86.

Beloved wife of Thomas H. Larsen for 58 years. Loving mom of Lesley (Allan) Kountz, Eric (Jane) Larsen, Kirk (Kristine Cherek) Larsen and Timothy “T-Bone” Larsen. Loving Nana of Amanda (Kyle) Mouradian-Koenig, Casey Larsen, Sarah Kountz, Thomas Kountz and Sophia Larsen. Great Nana of Atlas Koenig. Loving sister of Stan (Mary) Bruederle, Wally Bruederle and Leo (Ron Rinkle) Bruederle. Preceded in death by her sister, Betty Bruederle. Also loved by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Judy made the most of her 86 years of life and left an indelible mark on many people along the way. She was a graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Sociology that she would put to great use over the course of her life. She traveled with family and friends and experienced the world, one city at a time. She treasured family meals that rotated everyone’s favorites and typically involved boisterous laughter. She made countless memories over four decades at the family cabin on Swamsauger Lake in northern Wisconsin. As a multi-decade season ticket holder for the Wisconsin Badgers Basketball and Football teams, she cheered on the teams with all of her energy and had fun regardless of the outcome of the games (but she enjoyed the victories much more). Her competitive side also came out during the games that she played at home with family and friends.

Judy was incredibly compassionate as evidenced by her tireless efforts advocating for children with disabilities and their families in both her personal and professional life. Judy was a bright shining light that will be remembered with love by all that had the opportunity to spend time with her.

Visitation at Atonement Lutheran Church, S70W16244 Martin Drive, Muskego, Wisconsin from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Service at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 22, 2024. Committal ceremony will follow the service.
